Congratulations to this wonderful team who can now add Senior Post Primary Munster Champions to that list. On Tuesday last the scene was set in Limerick Road with the sun shining and the pitch freshly cut and lined. The preparation was done, and the girls were in the zone. The vibe was good.

We knew we would have to start strong and that we did with a point from Aoife and a goal from Abi. The girls worked tirelessly through the first half, with great link play between defence and attack. Our wing forwards found themselves deep in our own half, tracking back and working hard for each other. Scores followed from Roisin and Rachel. In what was a great first half battle between the teams, the score at the break was 3-5 to 5 points in our favour.

At half time we took a well needed breather and rehydrated. We knew we would have to raise our game another level, while continuing to work hard for each other. And raise it another level we did, the girls were fantastic in the second half and ran at the Fermoy defence.

With scores coming from Abi, Rachel, Ali, Roisin and Aoife, the spread of scorers showing a true reflection of the teamwork and decision making we saw on the field. Our defence deserves huge credit, keeping the opposition scoreless in the second half. Well done to all on a fantastic team performance.

Having a home venue linked in nicely with Pres Active Week and some of our schoolmates and teachers took the opportunity to get their steps up by walking out to the match to cheer us on from the sideline. It was a great lift and really encouraging to hear the cheers and see the painted faces.

Finally, we wish our teammate Aoibhe the very best with her recovery.

This amazing group look forward to their final game of the year, a county final this Friday in Kanturk GAA at 10.30 v Ballyvourney.
