Comprehensive victory for U18 footballers

-

Our U18 footballers travelled to Kilworth last Thursday night to play St Dominics in this year's league final. After a very nervous start and a strong wind to contend with, St Dominic’s had the first five chances but failed to find the target. Our opening score came from our captain Luke followed by a well taken free from Kevin.

This was followed shortly by a goal from Cian with the ball worked in along the end line. Another point from Kevin was followed by a second goal from Cian. Town were well on top at this stage and our defence were in no mood to concede anything at the other end, keeping St Dominic’s scoreless from play. Kevin ended the half with another well taken point before Cian set him up for the third goal of the game. At half time we were well in control on a scoreline of Town 3-4 St Dominic’s 0-1.

The second half started with Cian adding two points to his tally, in between these was a well-worked point from our corner-back Fionn. Eoin Brenock followed this with a well worked-point and James was to complete the scoring with one of his trademark points. The game finished on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-4.

Patsy O'Mahony presented the cup to our captain Luke Keane. This game was the last game at juvenile level for many of these lads and we in the juvenile club wish them all the best in their future sporting careers. They gave us plenty to cheer about down through the years.

BUSY WEEK FOR THE BALLYGIBLIN U8S

There's plenty of action for our U8s who are playing Skeheenarinky in a challenge during the week, after their blitz in Ballyhea on Saturday morning where they had two teams playing who made parents and coaches very proud. Well done boys, keep it up.
