Senior ladies points taken
Ballincollig 1 Park Utd Senior Ladies 2
Our senior ladies team chalked up their first win of the season away to Ballincollig on Wednesday night last. After suffering 2 defeats in their opening 2 games the girls put in a mighty display all over the pitch.
Two goals from Mairead Coughlan had Park in a comfortable position but when Ballincollig pulled one back it was backs to the wall for the remainder of the game. Laura Roche in goals kept Park’s defence on their toes in front of her and thankfully Park held on and secured all 3 points.
By the time you read this the girls will be after playing another home game v Passage and hopefully they will have kept the winning run going. They play at home again next Wednesday 24th v Youghal Utd at 7pm and who knows, by then they could be looking for 3 wins on the bounce. Well done to all involved.
NOTHING GAME Avondale 5 Park Utd Juniors 1
In what was a nothing game for both sides in Avondale Park on Sunday morning last there still turned out to be some quality goals. Both sides had nothing to play for and an understrength Park side went down to a more physical side.
This was the juniors’ last game for this season and the management team of Paul Masterson, Colin O’Mahony, and Pat O’Flynn must be congratulated for keeping this team in Junior League 2 which was a competitive league from start to finish. With commitment and the addition of some youth players from last season’s title winning youth team, hopefully we can field at junior level again next year.
