Good fun and quality sport
Athletes aged 6-16 participated in O’Connell Park, Mitchelstown on Tuesday last in a fun area qualifier for Cork Community Games finals: Sprints U8 60m and 80m, 100m U12, 14 and 16; 200m U10, 600m U12, 800m U14, 1500m U16, hurdles U10/14, ball throw U12, long jump U12, U14; shot / javelin U14, high jump and discus U16, relays U10 mixed, 12, 13 mixed, 14, 15 mixed, U16.
On 24 June in UCC at 1pm elected up to 3 guys and 3 girls area participants per age group are participating in Cork finals. Participants can take place in one event plus one relay.
TALENT FINAL IN WATERGRASSHILL
A good bunch of individuals and groups competing in music, singing, dancing modern/traditional, recitation, U12/U16 are entered for county finals in Watergrasshill on Saturday, June 17. Long puck qualifier held on Tuesday last. Tom Hyland Lyons and Aaron Horgan won the qualifying spots U12 boys with Tom Casey the sub. U14 girls to be held at Cork final on Bank holiday Monday, June 5 in Ballincollig (P31 DH58) at 7 pm.
