Monday motivation, diversity and a comfortable chair
Worker productivity in Ireland peaks at the beginning of the week and during the first half of each working day. A survey of over 500 office workers from Codex, found that Monday is the most productive day for 30% of Irish workers, closely followed by Tuesday (29%). However, productivity then tapers off among survey respondents on Wednesday ( 19%), Thursday (11%) and Friday (11%).
Mornings stand out as the most productive time of day for 4 in 5 employees, underscoring a pattern of declining productivity levels towards the end of each day and each week.
Shedding a light on how hybrid working influences on worker productivity, the survey found that 57% of hybrid workers say they are more productive when working from home, while 1 in 4 struggle with feelings of isolation or disconnection from colleagues. Difficulty in maintaining work-life boundaries (25%) and distractions in the home (22%) were identified as additional challenges of remote working.
DIVERSITY
The overwhelming consensus (80%) among Irish workers emphasises that a diverse and inclusive workplace improves morale, innovation and productivity, with nearly two-thirds expressing a desire for increased diversity in their organizations.
HYBRID VERSUS OFFICE WORKING
Looking at how remote workers are equipped to do their jobs, the survey found that 32% feel a comfortable office chair would enhance their productivity when working from home, while 28% say a fast-performing laptop would boost their efficiency.
Significantly, the research found that although half of Irish employees would prefer a hybrid working model, just 1 in 5 currently have this option available to them, while two-thirds of hybrid workers are now required to spend at least three days in the office.
