All-Ireland heartbreak for Blackwater Community School, Lismore

-

It wasn’t to be for the young men of BCS who competed fiercely in the Masita Paddy Buggy Cup All-Ireland B final in Abbotstown on Saturday last. We came up against a physically powerful St Killian’s side playing with a stiff breeze and after an early onslaught where BCS conceded 3 goals in 12 minutes, the Ulster champions left us too great a challenge to surmount. Blackwater fought on with bright spells of point scoring in the second half but ultimately the battle was lost in the opening spell of the game.

Our boys can be so proud of themselves for competing so comprehensively at this level and for setting the bar high for future hurling in BCS.

Thank you to all supporters who made the journey on the day and to everyone who showed their support to the boys over the campaign. A huge word of thanks to the U19 management team of Fintan O’Connor, Eoin MacCraith and Jaime Kearney who put so much of their time and experience into this great group of young men.
