ATTRACTIVE DOUBLE HEADER IN P.U.C.

There's hurling and football action in SuperValu Páirc Ui Chaoimh next Saturday, with Kilkenny taking on reigning All-Ireland hurling champions, Limerick, in the Allianz league semi-final, throw-in is at 4.30pm. This is followed by a division 2 football fixture, Cork v Armagh at 7pm.

WELL DONE BAILEY

Well done to Bailey Browne who has been included in the North Cork U14 hurling developmen­t squad. Bailey, who also plays hurling and football for his school, St. Colman's College, Fermoy, takes his sport very seriously and the progress he's making is just reward for his efforts.

JUVENILE TRAINING CONTINUES IN RACQUETBAL­L COURT

Juvenile training with Dave Browne and Dooner continues every Sunday evening in the racquetbal­l court. These young players are very enthusiast­ic and really enjoy the sessions.

BAD WEATHER, GOOD NEWS FOR RACQUETBAL­L COURT

The wretched weather we're having to endure has resulted in the racquetbal­l court being very busy since Christmas. Racquetbal­l is a very accessible sport, with pretty straightfo­rward rules. We're glad to report that facilities in the racquetbal­l court are very well respected by users.

COACHING OFFICER APPPOINTED

The club can report that Jim Kenneally, Coolmohan has been appointed the club's new coaching officer. Jim continues to do great work with the juveniles and has a lot of coaching experience built up.

MEDIC/FIRST AID OFFICER APPOINTED

The club's new medic/first aid officer for the 2024 season is Richard Bryant, from Ballyduff Upper. Having a fully training person available is very important and we're delighted to have Richard on board.

SOLAR LIGHTS PROJECT

Work to instal solar lights on the community field walkway are ongoing. Lights installed to date are working well and projecting good light.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO ALICE AHEARN

Best wishes to Alice Ahearn, a native of Doon, Araglin, who celebrated her 60th birthday in The Market Stone Restaurant, Clogheen recently.

BUSY TIME FOR THE HORSES

Congratula­tions to Araglin Hunt Club on the successful staging of their 100th anniversar­y celebratio­ns - the publicatio­n to mark this historic milestone is very impressive. Many of the hunt club's members were involved in last Sunday's point-to-points, which proved to be a great success.

CARNIVAL TENT AT THE POINT-TO-POINTS

Araglin Carnival volunteers, who operated a fundraisin­g refreshmen­ts tent at the Kilworth & Araglen Point-to-Points did an excellent job - well done to them and all those who helped prepare the sandwiches and home baking.
