Community support
We held a club meeting last Thursday where we launched our main fundraiser, our annual sponsored walk which will be held on Sunday, April 14th. Last year we had a great turnout with great support by all. Most of our players should have received their sponsorship cards by now.
Without the support of everybody in the community it would be near impossible to run our club. Funds from this walk go towards equipment and the ever increasing cost of the club.
We are glad to say school coaching has now returned. It started in Glanworth school last week and will be rolling out to Ballindangan and Curraghagalla schools shortly, the cost is shared between our 3 clubs, Glanworth GAA, St Dominics and ourselves. It’s great to be involved in this venture.
Unfortunately with this extreme rain our U21 fixture in the County Championship last Monday was called off due to pitch closure, a battle that many clubs face at the moment. Great patience and understanding has been shown by North Cork and County fixtures committees. Our mentors are working extremely hard to get all matches refixed.
We were extremely proud last weekend when Holly Quirke took her place on the full forward line for Cork Minors v Limerick, scoring 2 points. We know how much hard work Holly puts in, Cork Minors are sitting comfortably on top of the League table.
FIXTURES
County Junior League kicks off this Friday on Páirc Ui Chaoimh 4G pitch at 8pm v Naomh Fionnbarra.
RIP
We would like to express our sincere sympathies and sadness at the passing of Fr Broderick, he was a very kind and gentle man. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
