It’s all go at CBS Secondary, Mitchelstown
Huge congratulations must be given to the CBS second year basketball players on their comprehensive win in the final before Easter, finishing comprehensively at 33 to 25 points.
This is a fantastic achievement for the students, a first for the school and testament to the hard work put in from the team and their trainers Mr John O’Neill, Ms Noreen Piggott and TY student Dieudo Kabundi. It looks like the CBS have a new, highly successful sport in the school!
CBS STUDENT COUNCIL REPRESENTED AT THE ISSU ANNUAL ASSEMBLY IN DUBLIN
Well done to the three CBS Mitchelstown Student Council members Cillian Fraher, Micheál Egan and James Browne who represented themselves and the school at the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union - ISSU Annual Assembly at the Liberty Hall Theatre in Dublin last Wednesday, having joined the online meeting the day before.
Specific commendation must be given to the Student Council chairperson, Cillian Fraher who put himself forward for Education Officer, and while, unfortunately, the position wasn’t to be for Cillian on this occasion, the school are confident that this will not be the last we hear of this student in the political sphere. The whole experience was highly positive for student voice, democracy and activism, areas that are so important in today’s current climate.
