Refurbishe­d community centre relaunched

The newly refurbishe­d community centre in Lismore got an official relaunch last Saturday when a coffee morning was held with all proceeds raised donated to the senior citizens Christmas dinner. Lismore GAA would like to thank all the committee members who helped with teas, coffees, cakes and the raffle.

The community centre, which was built in the early nineties, received grant funding to enable the GAA club make substantia­l and much needed improvemen­ts throughout the building. GAA chairman, Colin Kearney, addressed attendees paying tribute to past club members who took on the mammoth task of fundraisin­g and building the centre all those years ago. He added by saying that we now have a centre which the community can be very proud of which will service the needs of the various clubs of Lismore long into the future. A full report will on the fundraiser will be published by the community centre committee next week.

Lismore GAA Club would like to extend its' deepest sympathies to the O'Flynn family following the recent death of Soyna O'Flynn, late of Railway Gardens and Willow Bank, Midleton. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.
