Scout group set to host information day in Ballyhooly

- KATIE GLAVIN

Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Scouters will take to Castleblagh Recreational Area on Saturday, April 20 as the 88th Ballyhooly Cork Scout group host their ‘Information Day’.

The group is currently open to new members and is inviting all to come along for an overview of what the group get up to as they seek out potential new recruits.

Do you ever find yourself in the great outdoors and wonder ‘ Why don't we do this more often?’. Do you think back to your own childhood and remember those fun times building forts in your garden, climbing trees, lighting bonfires, toasting marshmallows, camping in the garden and having the best of times with your pals? Do you sometimes think that you or your children spend too much time using devices and not enough time outdoors?

Well, wonder and reminisce no longer, because the Ballyhooly 88th Scouts are inviting you and your family to come along to their ‘Information Evening’ where you can experience first-hand all of that fun once again.

The location is Castleblagh Recreational Area where you will

be met by a variety of Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Scouters who will give you a snapshot of what they get up to. Follow the signs from the village bringing you across the bridge to Ballyhoo

ly Lodge and straight up the hill to the 2nd forest entrance on the right. Be prepared to get involved so don't wear your latest purchases!
