Fermoy U8 B boys were home to Avondale. Another great morning, some competitive games and great skills on show from both teams. Thanks to Avondale for travelling and all the coaches, kids and parents for giving their time.

U10A TEAM TRAVEL TO RIVERSTOWN FC

Fermoy U10 A played away in Riverstown on Sunday. The team played with fantastic skill, even got a few hat-tricks. Everyone is super proud of the team.

U13S LOSE ON THE ROAD U13 DIVISION 1

Castleview 4 Fermoy 1

Hard day for the boys in tough conditions. In a game where nothing seemed to go right, they kept going till the final whistle. No fault, lads. Heads up and keep going.

One more league game to go v Bandon and a local cup fixture before the boys get a deserved break.

U16S PROGRESS IN CUP

Fermoy 3 College Corinthians B 2

Fermoy went through to the next round of the local cup with a good 3-2 win Saturday morning in Carrig Park. Man of the match with two goals was Jude, he was unlucky not to have the hat-trick. The winner came from Tyron.

All in all, a good win after finishing our league a few weeks ago. We were a little rusty, which was to be expected. Thanks to Cor’s Boys for a good competitive game. Well done boys.

U11S PLAY SPRINGFIELD

U11A boys were in league action again on Saturday, home to Springfield Ramblers A. Both teams were evenly matched with some great ball skills and teamwork on display! Springfield Ramblers proved to be tough opponents but our lads were up for the challenge. Well done boys, on to the next game.

FERMOY REACH THE SEMI-FINAL OF THE U17 SUPER CUP

Springfield 2 Fermoy 3

Looking to put last week's self- inflicted defeat behind them, Fermoy again faced higher league opposition in the quarter-final of the cup and came away with a fully deserved victory.

Despite the strong home support, it was Fermoy who made all the early running culminating in a fine penalty save from the home keeper. Just 4 minutes later, in the 22nd minute, a speculative effort from Freddie found the back of the net to give Fermoy a deserved lead in the 1st half.

The second half was a much more even contest but a Kajus penalty after the last defender handled on the line coupled with an ice cold (reflected in his celebration!) finish by Senan, were enough to see Fermoy progress into the semi. It was no more than Fermoy deserved after a determined team display.

In a performance that saw the full squad contribute, it was great to have both Callum, who put in a faultless display at left back, and Conor, who added much needed energy into the midfield, step up from the U16s. Well done all.

SENIORS NARROWLY LOSE AT HOME

Fermoy 1 Carrigtwohill 2

Our seniors played their first game of the play offs on Friday night and despite dominating for most of the game, lost 2-1. The lads will have to regroup quickly now as they are away to Tramore Saturday, 20th April at 2pm. A huge opportunity to get back on track!

U12S PROGRESS IN CUP Fermoy 3

Blarney A 0

Our U12 team advances to the next round thanks to a good display Sunday evening against Blarney A at Carrig Park.

Fermoy opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a wonderful strike from John O'Sullivan, it must have travelled some 20 yards before rattling the back of the net. Goal two came in the 20th minute. The Blarney defence failed to clear a corner, it fell nicely to Gavin Quirke to stroke the ball home from close range. In the closing stages of the half, Fermoy were awarded a free. A stunning strike from Gavin Quirke from outside the box into the top right hand corner put the boys 3 up at the break.

The 2nd half saw plenty of chances from both sides. Fair play to Blarney, they never gave up and made a real game of it in the 2nd half. The Blarney goalkeeper pulled off some outstanding saves to keep the score at 3-0, as did Alex McNamara in the Fermoy goal, making sure his side was keeping a clean sheet and advancing to the next round. Well played boys.
