CORRIN MART REPORT

Larger numbers of cattle on offer in Corrin Mart this week. We had an extremely lively trade for all cattle with a much stronger trade for all weights and types. We expect larger sales over the next few weeks and trade should remain very strong due to the numbers of buyers online and in the ring enquiring for cattle over the next number of weeks.

COWS

Good strong trade for dry cows. Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.55 per kilo to €1.98 per kilo.

Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.88 per kilo up to €2.50 per kilo. Charolais 680kg €1,690; Limousin 690kg €1,650; Friesians 755kg €1,630.

BULLOCKS

Much improved trade this week. The improved conditions have ensured plenty of customers for all bullocks.

Light stores: under 350kgs made from €2.00 per kilo for Friesians up to €3.20 per kilo for Continenta­l bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.50 per kilo up to €3.05 per kilo.

Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €2.05 for Friesians up to €3.15 per kilo for Continenta­ls. AA/ Hereford bullocks made from €2.60 up to €3.05 per kilo. Fwd. stores: 500 to 600kgs, the plainer Friesians started at €2.30 per kilo up to €2.90 per kilo.

Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+: good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.55 up to €2.90 per kilo. AA 397kgs €1,180; AA 270kgs €870; Hereford 615kgs €1,730; Friesians 596kgs €1,480; Hereford 436kgs €1,240.

HEIFERS

Good lively improved trade for heifers. Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.40 up to €3.00 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.60 per kilo.

Butchers heifers: 400kgs+: these type heifers made from €2.45 up to €3.10 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.65 per kilo. Limousin 585kgs €1,750; AA 580kgs €1,670; Limousin 490kgs €1,400; AA 286kgs €850.
