Division 2 Football League win over Glanworth

-

The sun came out but the wind made its presence felt last Saturday evening in Glanworth.

We were at full strength on the field and on the sideline for this game with a lot of young guns on the panel. Eoin McHugh got the scoring underway with a point in the 4th minute, this came from a free taken by Eoin O'Regan who spotted the free man and an opportune moment saw the successful score.

During the first half we added point by point from across the field - another lovely free taken by Darragh, picked out Eoin O'Regan and again converted. The 23rd minute saw the Glanworth goalie unbalanced when a great shot at the net was taken by Darragh, initially it seemed the goalie pulled off a save on this one but it managed to still find the net. We went into half time ahead on a 1-10 to 0-5 scoreline.

Second half scoring was a little slower - Glanworth converted a free in the 7th to open the scoring but in the 9th, Shane Looney found the back of the net once again. The Buckley brothers added 2 more and Darragh finished out with another 2 sending the game on 2-14 to 0-9.

A nice win and nice to see some new faces on the pitch wearing the black and red. Team: Stevie Donegan, Darren Roche, Barry Sheedy, Dean Fitzharris, Eoin McHugh, Jamie Sheedy, Haulie Burke, Darragh Palmer, Shane Looney, Colman O'Reilly, Jerome Fitzgerald, Cory Buckley, Jordan O'Grady, Jake Buckley, Eoin O'Regan.
