LOCAL EVENTS UNDERWAY FOR WATERFORD FESTIVAL OF FOOD

Waterford Festival of Food gets underway from April 19 until April 21, with a host of local events taking place as part of the annual festival weekend.

Friday, April 19 will see a Picnic River Cruise kick off from Villiersto­wn Quay at 3pm and 5pm with Blackwater Eco Tours River Cruise and a unique Taste of Waterford Picnic. Fuller’s Bistro in Lismore will present ‘Food in Film’, introducin­g ‘The Godfather’ night kicking off at 6pm.

The following day will see the Picnic River Cruise running again with sessions at 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

April 20 will also see Lismore Courthouse Theatre host ‘Edible Experiment­s’ a children's workshop exploring the earth, the moon and stars using edible materials, underway at 10am and 2pm.

Ballyin House in Lismore will have an ‘Afternoon Tea Experience’ at 2.30pm on Saturday and again on Sunday, April 21 at the same time. At 6pm, Blackwater Distillery and J. Hill’s Standard will host pre-dinner cocktails at their studio in Lismore

On Saturday night, Lismore Castle will see a celebratio­n of Ireland’s vibrant culinary heritage with a memorable banquet at 7pm.

Salterbrid­ge House in Cappoquin will host Craicly at 7pm, a storytelli­ng group, and will hear from food producers, growers and farmers around the region.

Sunday’s events will close out with the Picnic River Cruise running again from Villiersto­wn Quay at 4pm and again at 6pm.

A host of events will also take place across Dungarvan and surroundin­g area as part of the Waterford Festival of Food, with the ever-popular Quayside market running from 10am on Saturday, April 20 and the Festival Market running at Grattan Square in Dungarvan from 10am on Sunday, April 21.
