It’s not too late, now is the time if you have ever thought you might like to take up a new sport and you like the outdoors. The Get into Golf programme is an ideal opportunity to learn the basics of the game of golf within a structured programme. It is specifically for people with little or no experience of the game and it is designed for what you need to know from the very basics, through how to improve. A PGA instructor will guide you through the basics for the first six weeks alongside volunteers who will organise activities to help integrate participants into the club. The programme will run on Monday evenings from April 22nd, 29th, May 6th, May 13th, May 20th and May 27th including bank holidays. The cost is €60. SENIOR MEN 11TH APRIL

Another changeable day for the senior men, with misty rain forecast for 1pm. This didn't dampen the spirits of some however, with a very respectable turnout of 28. Conditions on the course have been improving gradually, with the greens reportedly as being very playable. Still very wet in places on the course, providing our seniors with an extra challenge. Fairways and greens in regulation have never been so important!

After the teas and coffees were had, Raymond Ennis and Joe Slattery led the presentation of prizes, with a lovely selection of wines and chocolate as well as golf balls up for grabs. Scoring was good as ever, with a great showing from our club president, Gerry Stanton and his playing partners, managing a solid 3rd place.
