Plenty of cattle again this week in Corrin, but not as massive as last week’s huge sale. Trade was very lively again with plenty of customers to buy all weights and breeds. There was an really super trade for quality lots.

COWS

Very strong trade for dry cows. Store cows - 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.50per kilo to €2.10 per kilo.

Heavier cows - 550kgs+ making from €1.85 per kilo up to €2.50 per kilo. AU 680kg €1,650; Friesians 755kg €1,630; Friesians 670kg €1,370.

BULLOCKS

Last week’s improved trade was easily maintained with a stronger trade for quality lots.

Light stores - under 350kgs made from €1.90 per kilo for Friesians and up to €3.15 per kilo for Continenta­l bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.50 per kilo up to €3.00 per kilo.

Medium stores - 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €2.15 for Friesians up to €3.70 per kilo for Continenta­ls. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.70 up to €3.00 per kilo.

Fwd. stores – 500kgs to 600kgs - the plainer Friesians started at €2.30 per kilo up to €3.10 per kilo.

Heavy bullocks - 600kgs+: good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.55 up to €2.90 per kilo. AA 750kgs €2,080; SA 373kgs €1,370; Hereford 720kgs €1,780; Limousin 463kgs €1,470; AA 535kgs €1,540.

HEIFERS

Good steady trade similar to last week. Store heifers - under 400kgs made from €2.30 up to €2.90 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.50 per kilo.

Butchers heifers - 400kgs+: these type heifers made from €2.48 up to €3 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.68 per kilo. Limousin 525kgs €1,600; Hereford 450kgs €1,390; AA 477kgs €1,450; Limousin 385kgs €1,100.
