Play in Pink a great success

-

Doneraile Golf Club hosted a Play in Pink day last Wednesday in aid of breast cancer research.

Blessed with a beautiful sunny day, nothing could dampen the positive atmosphere, enthusiasm and good will shared by all the golfers. There was a huge turnout of support from members and visitors and a sea of pink descended upon the course for the day. While participants didn’t have to dress in pink most got behind the spirit of the event by donning some pink attire. Special thanks to our lady captain Kathleen Cronin and the ladies committee for the huge amount of work they put into organising the event. Thanks to all our generous members and visitors who supported the competition and purchased raffle tickets. The winning team on the day was Daire Power, Eileen and Danielle Sheehan with a score of 56 nett. We received great feedback and compliments from members and visitors.

Many thanks to Seamus, Pius, John and volunteers who continuously present our course in superb condition. Thanks to Mary, Mike and the Roche family for the beautiful food served throughout the day. Sincere thanks to the gents also for supporting the 9 hole competition in aid of breast cancer research.
