Deserving winners

COUNTY JUNIOR C FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Abbey Rovers 2-16 Rochestown 0-04

Abbey Rovers got their County Junior C Football Championship campaign off to the best possible start when they had a good win over Rochestown. This game was played in Glenville on Saturday night,

April 27th.

Abbey Rovers were in command right from the off and a pleasing aspect of the performance was the accuracy of their shooting and the spread of scorers across the entire team. Conditions were very good on the night and credit to Glenville for having their venue in such good order. Scores came at regular intervals over the course of the game and the work rate of the team was very impressive, with every player contributing to the outcome. In the end, Abbey Rovers were deserving winners against a Rochestown side who never gave up, despite being up against it for the entire hour. Thanks to Rochestown for a sporting game and referee Michael Carey, who handled the game well.

The next game in the round-robin takes place later in May against Rathpeacon and

Abbey Rovers know a win there will secure their passage to the knockout stages of the competition.
