The Avondhu

A busy week

-

What a week we had this week with both league and cup games taking place all over the league area, not forgetting some girls games.

The cup games are going well with plenty of mid-week games taking place.

Over the last few weeks we have had our U12, U13 and U14 inter-league squads travelling around the country. This season we hope to have our U13 sqaud going to the Galway Cup. They have had high numbers looking to enter this August, so we will have to wait for another two weeks to see if we are in.

Our U14 Kennedy Cup squad were in Kerry over the weekend where they took on Kerry in Killarney. We have more good news coming, so a busy time for everyone.

RESULTS U11 (SPONSORED BY NISSAN MOTORS FERMOY) HAT-TRICK FOR DEE Mogeely 1 Brideview Utd 5

What a game we had here on Wednesday evening last in Mogeely. The first half saw the play going from end to end. The homeside went in front when Dee scored a great goal after just 5 minutes.

Kerrigan made a great save to keep Utd in the game before Dee had the sides level with the first of his hat-trick. Dee had another header three minutes later to put the Tallow side ahead for the first time and they held this lead till half-time.

Mogeely had a great chance to go level but the penalty shot went just wide. Ben Hegarty increased Utd’s lead in the 44th min with a terrific goal. Dee was in again in the 48th min to seal his hattrick and a minute later, Hegarty rounded off the scoring in the final minute.

The scoreline flattered United as it was all to play for going into the final five minutes, where Utd grabbed three goals.
