A MESSAGE FROM MAI

Thank you is a very small word but its meaning is far reaching like kindness, remembrance, loyalty and friendship. I experienced all these feelings on April 19th at my book launch for ‘A Moment In Time’ in The Hibernian Hotel, Mallow. Thank you all for sharing and buying the book. The CancerConnect organisation are a wonderful example of care and compassion when you need it most. The sale of the book and the raffle on the night has raised over €6,000 so far. I appreciate the donations from each and every one of you in Peter’s memory. Thank you.

COMMUNION FOR THE FIRST TIME

We extend warm wishes to the children of Ballygown NS who celebrate the sacrament of Communion for the first time this coming Saturday. We hope you all have a wonderful day making memories. Again a thank you is extended to those who helped prepare the children for this special day in their lives, especially the priests and teachers.

Imogen Magner is competing for Rowing Ireland at the Olympic qualification event in Lucerne from May 19th until May 21st. Her grandfather John Magner, and her great-grandfather David Magner were from Killavullen. We wish her and her teammates the best of luck.

Congratulations to Owen Magner who made it to No 2 on the podium for Pro 2 at the Irish Drift Championship event in Mondello Park last weekend. Another one to watch at future events!

Killavullen Community Café was held on Tuesday April 30th in Killavullen Community Centre. The next one will take place on the last Tuesday of May. All are invited to call in, come alone or bring a friend. A morning of connection and communication is assured, with a warm welcome being the highlight. Many thanks to the volunteers who organise and run this event monthly.
