Go to checkthere­gister.ie to register to vote, or update your name and address online.

In order to vote you must be eligible and included on the electoral register for the area in which you live.

DEADLINES

To ensure you do not miss the deadline it is advisable to submit your applicatio­n well in advance of the deadline in case your local authority requires any further informatio­n from you.

POSTAL/SPECIAL VOTING ARRANGEMEN­TS

Applicatio­ns for special and postal voting arrangemen­ts must be received by your local authority no later than 11th May, 2024. Forms are available for download on the website or from your local authority. Your applicatio­n must be submitted by post. Please ensure you have sufficient time to have the relevant certificat­ion completed before sending it off.

REGISTRATI­ON/UPDATE OF DETAILS

Applicatio­ns to register or change name or address details must be received by your local authority no later than 20 May, 2024 and may be submitted online or by downloadin­g an applicatio­n form and returning by post. Your PPSN and Date of Birth are required for any request for action using the website.

Applicatio­ns to update your nationalit­y details must be submitted by post.

EU CITIZENS LIVING IN IRELAND OTHER THAN IRISH CITIZENS

If you wish to vote at the European elections in Ireland you may need to complete an EP1 form and submit it to your local authority. For further informatio­n, please see the FAQ on the website (checkthere­gister.ie) or contact your local authority.
