Kotryna receives Sports Athlete of the Month award
Kotryna Pacerinskaite, Fanahan McSweeney AC, was selected as Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month for February at River Lee Hotel on Friday last. Kotryna was the winner of the National Indoor senior weight for distance with championship best performance (7.20m).
TRACK EVENTS
Cork County track events U9-14 will be held on Sunday, May 12th at Banteer Astro pitch. It will be sprints and middle distance only. Its the first time that Astro will be used for the champs-history in the making.
Club entrants to date, include Thomas Burke, Mark Fleming, Matty and Patrick Kielty, Jack and Liam O’Rourke, Patrick Flynn, Ciara and Pieter, Des Brennan, Dylan Kennedy, Molly Thornton, Beth Hegarty, Merveille Kumanzembe, Sarah and Kate Dunne, Lily Walsh, Lucy and Aoife Hutchinson, Eoin and Molly Finn, Katie French, Aoibh McCarthy, Zoe O’Connor and Micheal Quirke.
Whilst in Castleisland on 19th May. Events are relays (U9 to U19); long jump (U9U14); turbo javelin (U9U12) and high jump (U12-U14). Can do 2 individual events plus relays. Lads and lassies - give it a go Munsters follow in June.
CORK COMMUNITY GAMES ATHLETICS
Cork Community Games finals on Saturday June 22 in Kinsale. Selection of area sports date to be fixed shortly for participants aged 6 to 16. Events are U8 60m and 80m, U10 100m and 200m, mixed relay (3gals & 3 guys), U12 100m and 600m, long jump, ball throw, relay, long puck (boys), U13 mixed relay, U14 100m and 800m, long jump, shot put, javelin, relay, long puck (girls), U15 mixed relay, U16 100m, 200m and 1500m, high jump, discus, relay.

TRAD GAMES TOUR
Young and old enjoyed games tour on Saturday last. A novel repeat Games tour on
June 1st bank holiday starting from Clongibbon hotel 11pm including novel hurling skills, road bowling, weight for distance (Kotyrna Pacerinskaite is national senior champ), shot put, holly skittles throws. A team entry in Munster Community Games, rustic horse shoe throwing and children’s puiríní stones.

TRAINING
Athletics training on Tuesday / Friday 6pm in Kilworth astro and St. Fanahans college 6.45 pm on Thursday. O’Connell Park Sunday 10am. Boys and girls are welcome to participate. Training help from parents needed to help busy coaches at training to avoid burn out.
