All roads lead to Hightown on Sunday
Volunteer members of Bartlemy Point-toPoint committee spent much of last Monday preparing the Hightown course for next Sunday's eagerly anticipated races.
PATRONS SHOULD NOTE EARLIER START TIME
Due to a very large entry of horses, the committee have been instructed by the Irish Turf Club to commence racing at 1pm sharp.
Given the number of declarations, it promises to be a very busy day for all concerned, however, everyone knows their job and it's expected things will run smoothly.
GOOD WEATHER, GREAT COURSE AND A BIG CROWD EXPECTED
While almost every race meeting during the earlier part of the year was in doubt due to very poor weather - no such problems are expected next Sunday, when high pressure will more or less guarantee fine weather. This is great relief to
everyone and is one of the factors in owners/ trainers being anxious to run their horses.
HIGHTOWN IS ALWAYS A GOOD TEST
Getting a winner in Hightown is no small
achievement and needless to say, ending up in the winners’ enclosure adds considerably to a horse's value. Racegoers are looking forward to Sunday's event which is sure to draw a sizeable attendance to sample what should be a great day's point-to-point racing.
