U15 LOCAL CUP LAST 16 Midleton A 3 Fermoy 2

Fermoy U15s bowed out of the cup after a very entertaining game in Midleton. Midleton started stronger, but Fermoy came into the game and took the lead with an excellent strike from Tyler. Midleton equalised with a well taken goal from a free kick. It was 1-1 at half-time and all to play for. Fermoy pressed on in the second half but conceded from a corner kick after Lucas had made a great save. Soon after, it was 3-1 when their tricky winger knocked one in. Fermoy didn't give up and were thwarted by some excellent blocks by the Midleton defence. Arran headed a goal in the last minute, from a great cross by Fionn. The final whistle was blown soon after. The coaches were extremely proud of the effort shown. We had more chances but just couldn't score. We wish Midleton A all the best in the next rounds. Thanks to the referee for a good game.

U16 SEASON ENDS U16 LOCAL CUP Q/F Carrigaline 3 Fermoy 1

Fermoy, currently top of Division 1, were away to top of Premier league Carrigaline in the quarter final of the local cup. Two good goals by the Carrigaline in the first half to lead 2-0 at half- time. Fermoy playing well got a deserved goal from Conor to make it 2-1. Carrigaline now feeling the pressure with Fermoy pushing for the equaliser. Eoin Corrigan came close to an equaliser mid-way through the 2nd half. Carrigaline scored late on to make it 3-1. Superb performance from the whole squad to show how far these lads have come this year. Rory in goal was very solid. Backline of Nathan, Jack, James and Cathal B were outstanding. Midfield of Fraser, Conor, Cathal Mc, Kevin and Captain Callum covered every blade of the Astro Turf. Seaghan up front worked tirelessly for the team. Subs - Eoin, Jude, Tyron came on for tired legs in the second half as Ricky emptied the bench. Special mention for Killian who wasn't feeling the best but made the trip anyway. All the best to Carrigaline in next round. They are a quality team.

Great to see all the parents clapping the boys off the pitch after the game too. All in all huge positive steps taken by the boys this year in the league and cup. We now take some time off but all the boys are already looking forward to next year. Massive thanks to Ricky, Alan and Aidan for all the work put into the boys. It's certainly paying off. To the parents for your absolute dedication to the lads it's greatly appreciated. And of course Fermoy FC - a great club to be involved with. Well done boys.

U11S LOSE 3-2

The Fermoy U11 boys were home to a very impressive Carrigtwohill Utd for their 3rd game of the league. The visitors took the lead early, but Fermoy worked hard and fought back with goals from Oscar Burke and Daniel Fitzgerald. However, it was not enough on the day with Carrigtwohill leaving with a 3-2 win. Hard luck, boys.

SEASON OVER FOR U13S BUT A SEASON TO REMEMBER U13 LOCAL CUP Fermoy FC 3 Riverstown 4

Another premier team was welcomed to Fermoy on a fine night for football on a perfect surface as per usual. Could Fermoy running on empty have another upset in them?

Fermoy started well, but Riverstown got to grips with the game and showed why they are a premier side. The away side struck first, a bit of luck down the wings let the ball break to the forward who cut in, and applied a nice finish to take the lead. With the home team now standing off, Riverstown sought to put this game away early and were soon 2 up. Plenty of lovely football in fairness, they were 3 up before the half, and well worth it, Fermoy had no answers.

The coach's message to the boys at half-time was for the lads to reset and just try and win the second half. Well, that went out the window as Riverstown went 4 up before we could blink. The boys never dropped the heads and got a consolation goal from Ned to make it 1.4. That gave the lads a boost, and soon after, Brandon fired in from distance to make it 2-4. Not done yet.

Aodhan was next and struck a shot from the edge of the box to make it 3.4. What a remarkable effort when the lads were on their knees. A few more minutes, and who knows what might have happened. It was a super night of football again in the spectacular Carrig

Park. Well done, Riverstown, a fine team and best of luck in the next round. Thanks to the referee for a great game. To the lads - no fault, ye gave everything and kept going until the end. On these nights you can learn more in defeat and I have no doubt ye will.

As the soccer season ends for the lads we would like to wish all the best to the players that have hurling and football games coming thick and fast and keep enjoying your sport regardless. Thanks to the parents who make it possible for the lads to have an environment that sees them flourish in sport and life. Thanks for the miles ye clock up supporting the lads.

This year the FAI Cup run brought us to Wexford for a game we will never forget and then huge support for the home game against Bridge United and the trip to Donacarney where we unfortunately bowed out in the last 8 of the competition. Thanks to our coaches, Will, Colin, John and Aidan, ye have been fantastic for the lads and we appreciate all the help. Onwards and upwards. Coybib.
