Ballygibli­n well beaten by Erins Own

Erins Own 3-17 Ballygibli­n 1-9

Erins Own emerged deserving winners over Ballygibli­n in the Red FM Cork Div 6 HL at Caherlag on Saturday. Early exchanges were close with the sides level 0-1, 0-2 and 0-4 apiece after 14 minutes.

Ballygibli­n lost Lorcan Finn and Darragh Flynn to injury. Ryan Donegan was in good form for Ballygibli­n and his 28th minute goal helped the sides to be level at the break 1-5 to 0-8.

On the resumption, Erins Own gained supremacy. They had some good points by Tom Foley, Alan

Bowen and Ronan Blackton. Ryan Donegan pointed for Ballygibli­n who trailed 1-10 to 1-6, the winners goal by Ben Foley. James Casey was in great form at wing back for the winners. Erins Own had two more goals from Conor Broderick and

Alan Bowen, as they moved well ahead. Joseph O'Sullivan pointed a late Ballygibli­n free.

Late points for the Caherlag side saw them emerge easy winners in the end. Best for Erins Own were James Casey, Ian O'Mahony, Ben Foley, Sean Power, Alan Bowen and Tom Foley. For Ballygibli­n, Eoghan Geary while in goal and when moved outfield was excellent, along with Ryan Donegan, Darragh Flynn, Sean O'Sullivan and Dean Barry.
