Bealtaine Golf Classic

Our Golf Classic kindly sponsored by John Curran & Sons Construction Ltd was held over the bank holiday. Over 100 teams took to the fairways. Doneraile Golf Club was in splendid condition and received numerous compliments from members and the visiting teams. Sincere thanks to Seamus, Pius, John and volunteers who continuously present the course in superb condition.

Thanks to everyone who entered a team purchased raffle tickets and to all our generous sponsors for sponsoring the greens, tee boxes and raffle prizes. A special word of thanks to our main sponsor John Curran & Sons Construction Ltd for his generous sponsorship and continued support of our club. We would encourage our members to consider our sponsors when purchasing goods or services.

A big thank you to captain Walter Cole, lady captain Kathleen Cronin and the organising committees and volunteers who put in endless hours in organising and running the event. The golf classic could not happen without your knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication to the club. Thanks so much to Mary, Mike and the Roche family for the beautiful food and your hospitality over the weekend. We would encourage that members would support Mary and Mike whenever possible.

MIXED FOURSOMES

Under the stewardship of lady captain Kathleen, captain Walter and Tom Meade our mixed foursomes travelled to Newcastle West Golf Club last weekend. Unfortunately it wasn't our day and we were narrowly defeated with 2 matches going to the 18th. Thanks to all the panel and the team managers for your efforts.

LADIES REVIVE ACTIVE

Under the management of Noreen Roche and Karen Walsh, our ladies Revive Active team play Tralee Golf Club on Saturday, 11th May at 1.40 p.m. 3 matches to be played in Tralee and 2 matches to be played in Doneraile. Best of luck to everyone involved.

On Sunday, 12th May our Jimmy Bruen team play Newcastle West Golf Club in Doneraile at 3pm. Best of luck to team manager Patrick Enright and all the panel. Members support for our teams would be very much appreciated.

LADIES AND GENTS FIXTURES

R & A 9 hole challenge qualifying competition runs from Tuesday, 7th May to Wednesday 22nd May inclusive. 2 person team event, 1 male and 1 female. 9 hole stableford score combined. Play as often as you like with a different partner. Winning pair qualify for the Munster Regional final which will be held in Doneraile Golf Club on Thursday, 6th June.
