Football league continues this weekend

-

Mitchelstown will make the journey to the Kerry border this coming Sunday, May 12 when they take on bottom of the table Ballydesmond in game five of nine in the McCarthy Insurance Division Five Football League. A win is a must for Mitchelstown to keep their slim hopes of making the Final alive and to ensure relegation for the second year in a row is kept at bay. Throw-in is at 11.30am.

CAVANAGH’S OF FERMOY CENTENARY DIVISION 3 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The top of the table clash between Mitchelstown and Kildorrery takes place in Kildorrery on Sunday next, May 12 with throw-in at 6pm. Both teams have six points each with Mitchelstown having played a game less, so a win would guarantee them a place in the final.

PITCH SANDING

Repair works at O’Connell Park and pitch sanding at Limerick Rd have now been completed and both playing fields are now open again. The playing surface had 150-ton U.S.G.A spec sand spread along with Verti draining, it also received 500kgs of Multigreen 28-3-15 fertiliser. The investment into both fields is just shy of €9,000 but must be done due to the amount of matches being played and the benefits should be seen in the coming weeks. The Field Development Lotto is funding this investment but needs your support which can be done by purchasing a yearly half yearly or even a tenweek lotto ticket by logging mitchelstowngaa.com and choosing play lotto now with the present jackpot €4,000
