Abbeyside next for minor hurlers
Well done to the minor hurlers who drew with St Olivers in their second game of the hurling league on a scoreline of 1-19 to 2-16. The lads will play Abbeyside in their next game which will take place in Ballyduff on Thursday, 9th May at 7pm.
COUNTY MINOR RESULT AND FIXTURE
Congratulations to the Waterford minor hurlers who secured their passage out of the Munster Hurling Championship with a victory over Limerick in their final group game last week on a scoreline of 4-12 to 1-14. They will now face either Dublin, Galway or Kilkenny in a few weeks’ time depending on who finishes third in the Leinster group.
COUNTY U20 FIXTURE
Best of luck to Tommy Byrnes and all involved with the Waterford U20 hurlers who play Limerick in their final group match of the Munster Championship on Friday, 10th May in Rathkeale at 7.30pm.
INTERMEDIATE RESULT AND FIXTURE
Well done to the Intermediate hurlers who made the long trip down to Tramore last Friday night and beat them on a scoreline of 2-26 to 0-19. The lads will play their third game of the campaign against St Mollerans this Saturday, 11th May in Ballyduff at 6pm.
JUNIOR FIXTURE
Best of luck to the junior hurlers who play against Ballysaggart this Sunday in Ballysaggart at 12pm. After a loss to Lismore in their last game, the lads will be hoping to bounce back with a win this time round.
JUVENILE RESULTS AND FIXTURES
The U12 football team will play against Gaultier on Friday, 10th May at 6.30pm in Gaultier having switched their focus from hurling after beating St Olivers during the week.
BALL WALL PAINTED
On the bank holiday Monday as the community field was a hive of activity with underage games being played, a few volunteers quietly went about their business of painting the recently installed ball wall. The competition winner to design the wall was a local boy, Andrew Burke whose design of vibrant colours, shapes and many different targets to aim sliotars and footballs at will certainly be a talking point when people set their eyes on it the next time they set foot at the community field.
