Bridge by the river in Fermoy
Once again Fermoy Bridge Club members have surpassed themselves winning at a National and County level. Congratulations to Oliver Reilly and Ted Long who came fourth in the recent CBAI Simultaneous Pairs competition. This competition is played nationally with all clubs in the country participating so this was a truly fantastic result. Congratulations also to Imelda Cullinan and Phil Murphy who were overall winners in the recent Specsavers competition held in Cork Bridge Club.
But the success of any club is not only measured in winning but also having a community spirit and above all having fun together and enjoying one another's company and on Friday, 26th April we had our annual Presidents dinner in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown. It was a fantastic night. Many thanks to Maggie and her team who organised it, the staff and management of The Firgrove who served up a delicious meal and Imelda Cullinan who was our MC on the night. A special word of thanks to John Ahern of theAvondhu who spent the evening with us taking photographs.
Heartiest congratulations to the winners of this year’s President's Prize Anne O’Grady and Mary O’Driscoll, very popular winners on the night.
Our AGM will be held in the clubhouse on Monday 20th at 7pm. This is a very important night when the committee for 2004/5 will be elected so please come along.
