THE LOWDOWN The first in a string of new openings from Native, its new Bankside aparthotel will add to its portfolio of 25 properties. Comprising 75 studios, one and two-bedroom units, the aparthotel will feature 24-hour check-in, free high-speed wifi and a communal workspace. It is the brand’s flagship London property and is located on historic Bear Gardens, close to Southwark Bridge. Native has two further aparthotels in the development pipeline: Native Glasgow, due to open in the autumn, and London Warehouse in Manchester, opening January 2019.

THAT'S a FACT The property was formerly an 18th century tea warehouse and is located a short walk from Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market. The heritage of the building has been preserved with polished concrete, exposed brick walls and the original arched warehouse windows.

THEY said it “This has been a rare opportunity to take a beautiful heritage building in one of London’s most culturally vibrant areas and transform it into a stylish aparthotel. The launch of Native Bankside is the first milestone in plans to expand our aparthotel business in all major cities across the UK and will set a benchmark for the category in terms of design”, says Guy Nixon, Chief Executive of Native.

RATES Rates at Native Bankside are from £160 +VAT per night.
