Free admission to cinema at Briery Gap

-

BRIERY Gap is offering, for this month only, free admission to three great movies to allow you to share the experience of the recently refurbished cinema.

There have been many changes to Briery Gap following an extensive refurbishment programme in 2013, but one of the most notable is the state of the art blu-ray and sound system, allowing us to showcase the latest award winning films to their best advantage.

The décor and seating have also received an upgrade, allowing you to relax and really enjoy the movie. So come and enjoy a night out free. Blue Jasmine, 12th May, 8:30pm. Cert: 15A. Cate Blanchett (Best Actress Oscar Winner for Blue Jasmine) carries off a magnificent lead performance as Jasmine, the self-deluding socialite fallen on hard times.

Without ever playing anything overtly for laughs, writer & director Woody Allen gets a tingle of exquisitely sad comedy to run right through his picture from first to last. The Great Gatsby, 19th May, 8:30pm. Cert: PG. “The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks.

Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). Captain Phillips, 26th May, 8:30pm. Cert: 12A. Columbia Pictures’ action-thriller Captain Phillips stars two-time Oscar® winner Tom Hanks in the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.
