These two teams served up a great game of hurling in Mallow on Monday night. Our ability to get goals was the major difference with Barry O Shea in great form, bagging four. However , this was by no means a one man show. Dave Kearney once again was sound in goal and Denis Taylor , Adam Sheehan and Cathal O Sullivan used their strength and skill to stem many Mallow attacks.
Eanna O Hanlon worked tirelessly against a lively Mallow midfield ,well helped by Colm O Shea. David Guinee and Shane Lyons were lively on the wings with Kieran Twomey fielding great ball at centre forward ,and well on target on several occasions.
Mallow 2 Throughtout the field, all our boys tried hard, and once again great praise must be given to the younger lads in defence , Michael Cogan, Shane Murphy and Brian Curtin who stepped well up to the mark.
Up front, T J Willis and Cathal O Brien along with our two subs, Ciaran and David O Sullivan all played their part . Well done to both teams for a very entertaining game.
It was great to see Bill Curtin out and about, and everyone in the club wish Bill a speedy recovery and look forward to him donning the blue and gold again.
KILSHANNIG LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB
Many players from Kilshannig Ladies Football Club made their First Holy Communions in Bweeng and Glantane last weekend, and were blessed with beautiful weather. Congratulations to all the families involved, and especially to the Under 10 Trainer Trish Twohig.
The U10s took to the field for their first game on the season against Mourneabbey Ladies Football Club. The outdoor training had really paid off and the girls put on a very good performance at home. Well done to the girls and to the coaching team of Trish Twohig, Anne O'Sullivan and Chloe Mathews.
