Mallow easily see off Glanworth in JAFC

JUNIOR ‘A’ FC Mallow 2-11 Glanworth 0-7 A WELL balanced Mallow were well on top in their Fermoy Credit Union JAFC game with Glanworth at Kildorrery. Mallow took the lead with early point by impressive Michael O'Rourke.
Glanworth levelled with points by Shane O'Riordan and Michael Cashman. Martin Roche edged the Harbour side 0-3 to 0-2 clear in the 15th minute with Martin Jackson making it 0-4 to 0-2 soon after. Both sides added a point before Mallow gained the upperhand in midfield where the O'Neill brothers impressed. Mallow five points on the trot. Just before the break Tom Pierce pointed for Glanworth cutting the lead at the break 0-8 to 0- 6.
The second half saw Mallow well in control. They introduced Jamie O'Connor who made an immediate impact. O'Connor was narrowly wide from a goal scoring chance but made up for that mistake with a goal after linking up well with Cian O'Neill and Alan Hogan in the 42nd minute 1-10 to 0-7.
Glanworth found scores very hard to secure in this half having just a single point by Shane O'Riordan from a free in the 32nd minute. Mallow had their second goal by Alan Hogan in the 54th minute. Both sides introduced a number of substitutes with the outcome never in doubt during this second half.
