Host of events at Twomey Family Remorial Weekend

THE TWOMEY Family Remorial Weekend takes place in Meelin on the weekend of June 6th, 7th and 8th.
There is a full programmes of events for all the family to enjoy.
Friday, 6th June sees one of the highlights of the weekend, with The Liam O’Connor Show at 8:30pm in the Hiland, Newmarket. Liam is also joined by the legendary Michael O Muircheartaigh, the voice of the GAA.
On Saturday 7th June there’s the Connie Twomey Memorial Cup U10 Hurling Blitz in Meelin GAA grounds which will take place at 10am.
The four mile family walk will start in Meelin square at 5pm. At 6:30pm the four mile run (in association with Duhallow Athletic Club) starts from the square in Meelin.
Thanksgiving mass will then take place in St. Joseph’s Church, Meelin at 8pm, followed by a table quiz at 9pm in Meelin Hall (teams of 4).
On Sunday 8th June there’s a charity cycle (110k and 50k) in association with Kanturk Cycling Club, which will start in Rockchapel community centre at 8:30am.
There’s an Intermediate football match at 3pm and intermediate hurling match at 4:30pm in John Joe Brosnan Park Meelin. These are followed by music afterwards in Meelin village.

PIPER AND Drummer strike musical love note - Tom Arnold and Marie Scully both members of Newmarket Pipe Band recently announced their engagement. This is the first time in the band's 51 year history that two members became engaged. The band would like to congratulate them on this special event and wish them both every happiness for the future. The band will carry out a number of playing engagements over the coming weeks including Corpus Christi and the Newmarket Summer Festival.
