Macra to celebrate 70 years

MACRA NA FEIRME: Saturday night week, June 7 th Macra na Feirme members, past and present will converge on Charlevill­e Park Hotel to celebrate 70 years of Macra, with current President, Kieran O'Dowd as special guest.

Organised by Avondhu Region, this event which includes dinner is an opportunit­y to reconnect with previous members from throughout the years as well as welcoming new members to the region.

In conjunctio­n with this there will be a display of old photos, newspaper articles, etc., and they are asking those who have any material which could be displayed to please make contact and all will be returned to the owners afterwards.

The mass at Boherbue Cemetery takes place Friday July 4th and Kiskeam Monday July 7th.

This Saturday a fundraisin­g disco in aid of Pieta House in Cork and Castleisla­nd will be held at the Edel Quinn Hall in Kanturk at 10 p.m.

A disco with a difference, with 80s and 90s music, strictly over 18, full bar facilities plus raffles for a wide variety of prizes.

FESTIVAL

Boherbue Developmen­t Associatio­n summer festival day is Sunday August 3rd when a host of events will take place in the local GAA grounds.

Please reserve the date, it will be a family day with a barbeque, live bands, side shows and numerous challenges for all ages.
