KILLAVULLE­N FARMERS MARKET

The fortnightl­y Killavulle­n Farmers' Market takes place this Saturday the 24th May, from 10.30am-1pm at the Nano Nagle Centre, Killavulle­n. The market will have a great selection of local produce & products such as knits, crochet, jewellery, natural soaps, organic essential oils, Irish made skin & body care products, a charity bookstall, fair trade products, fresh organic vegetables, eggs, preserves, award winning cheese, apples, apple juice, bread, home baking, flowers and plants. Catherine Cotter one of the stall holders of Maura's Kitchens states “We come from Glanworth every week to sell our lovely jams & cordial at the market. There is a great atmosphere here which makes the market unique. It's a lovely place worth a regular visit for fresh local produce”. COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The winner of The Haven Bar's lotto bonus draw on Wed 14th was Tom Barry, Ballyduff with bonus number 38 and Mary O'Driscoll won the Griffin's bar draw on Saturday night last with the bonus number 18. All proceeds of this lotto go towards the hall developmen­t loan and many thanks to all who support these draws and those organizing them.

45 DRIVE

Sharing 1st and 2nd prizes last Sunday night at the Killavulle­n 45 drive were Elizabeth O'Gorman & Ann Hanrahan and Patsy O'Gorman and Josie O'Driscoll. The best of the last 5 games was won by Margaret and Dan Mc Sweeney and the last game was won by Con O'Gorman and Nellie Burke. The raffle winners were Ann Drinan, Patsy Roche and Nellie Burke. For the Summer the cards will start at 8.30pm.

Cards are also held locally on Tuesday nights in Ballyhooly at 8.30pm and Wednesday nights in Castletown­roche at 8.30pm.

CAR BOOT SALE

The fortnightl­y car boot sale will be held on Sunday next 25th May.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The last exercise class with Shirley will be held on Wednesday 28th May at 10am. This will be followed by the usual coffee morning. The group wishes to thank “GO FOR LIFE” for the grant they received which helped fund the exercise classes. Classes will resume again in September. Contact Annette on 022 26659 for more informatio­n on outing, coffee mornings etc. New members are always welcome.

KILLAVULLE­N LOTTO GAA

The draw for the local GAA weekly lotto took place on Tuesday 13th in Griffin's Bar and the numbers drawn were 10,12 and 24. There was no winner of the jackpot and the lucky dip winners were €50 Michael Linehan, Main St (a seller), €30 Rosemaria Taylor (a seller) and €20 Jimmy Power, CTR (John Anglan). Next week's lotto draw will be held in The Haven Bar with a jackpot of €1,900. Tickets are only €2 and available from club members and shops and bars locally.
