Back when the Walking Dead first started in 2011, I wondered how long the central idea of the heroes running from the undead horde would last before it got a bit samey. But as this new series starts, The Waking Dead is far from boring. And with the gorgeous and talented Andrew Lincoln playing the lead, what other reason do you need to watch it?

At the end of the last series we saw Rick, played by Lincoln renounce his role as the group's leader. In the grim and murderous new world in which they now live he wants to be a better role model for his son. The death of his wife Lori has also hit him hard and the producers are promising lots of emotion and gripping storylines. Watch out for new recruits to the group and a possible love interest for Rick!
