Vroom up for classic and vintage run

IT’S time to take part in the Gougane Barra run which has always attracted vintage and classic cars from all over the country.

This event is being organised by the Ballincoll­ig and District Vintage and Classic Car club and it will be held on Sunday, May 22. The timetable and route of the run is:

Starting at Applegreen Service Station, Classis, Ovens (beside Ballincoll­ig Rugby Club) at 12 noon, it will travel to Gougane Barra where Mass will celebrated in St. Finbarr’s Oratory for deceased members of vintage clubs, including family members. Mass will take place at 1:30pm.

From Gougane Barra the run will return to Macroom via the Top of Coom and to the Riverside Hotel for optional dinner and presentati­on of prizes at 3pm.

The event is open to all vintage and classic car enthusiast­s and the 20 year rule will apply – vehicles up to 1996 will be accepted.
