Mallow prove too strong for Eire Og

-

whistle when the impressive Alan O’Mahony pointed for Eire Og who held a slender lead at the shortwhistle.

On the changeover despite Daniel Goulding stretching Eire Og’s lead with a point from a ‘45’ it was Mallow that showed the greater urgency for the rest of the game with Bill Myers, Mattie Taylor, James Loughrey, Eoin Stanton, Killian O’Connor, Pa Herlihy and Cian O’Riordan featuring strongly. Two rapid points saw them back on level terms at 1-6 to 0-9 by the 36th minute. Eire Og hit the front again courtesy of a Daniel Goulding point.

It was Mallow that took a lead they would not surrender three minutes later when Eoin Stanton and Pa Herlihy were heavily involved when Cian O’Riordan got inside the Eire Og defence to finish his sides goal to the bottom corner of the net 1-9 to 1-7. The North Cork never looked back from here with Cian O’Riordan (2) Kevin Sheehan, Craig Lynch and Killian O’Connor tagging on points before the end as they ran out clear winners.
