BANTEER RACK UP THE SCORES AGAINST CASTLEMAGNER: This was a game that was never in doubt from the opening stages. Banteer were coming off the back of two wins in recent days, were a full value for their win.
Although Castlemagner lead 0-04 0-02 after the opening Quarter Banteer then hit 2-05 without reply to open out a lead which would never be bridged. Both goals coming from Denis Roche, won a well struck penalty, and the points coming from a host of players, with an effort from Tadghy Sexton the pick of the bunch.
Although Castlemagner converted a penalty in the second half Banteer responded with a point and then a goal within 2 minutes of conceding to correct any complacency that may set in. Banteer dominated the rest of the half and there was no doubt about the destination of the two points after this game. Banteer 5-16 Castlemagner 1-08.

DUHALLOW U14’S WIN
Well done to the Duhallow under-14 hurling team who defeated Blackrock Premier 1 in a challenge game this Sunday in Blackrock. Duhallow found themselves with a mountain to climb at half time whistle as they were trailing Blackrock 2-7 to 0-1.
On resumption of the game Duhallow went into top gear immediately with a revamped layout and within 5 minutes had scored 2-1, the local lads kept the pressure on and ended up putting 3-12 on the scoreboard by the final whistle.
A great achievement for these boys who are not allowed to play in the Cork County league and championship. The team and followers were treated to tea and sandwiches after the game by Blackrock GAA club.

DROMTARIFFE JUNIOR HURLERS and FOOTBALLERS SUFFER WEEKEND DEFEATS: Our Junior hurlers travelled to Kilbrin on Friday night and met a team which displayed the crisper hurling with the result settled by half time – but credit the Dromtarriffe spirit who scored some nice points in the improved second and added a goal through a Paudie O’Callaghan flick to the net.
Meanwhile our Junior footballers travelled to Knocknagree on Sunday and started brightly through Daniel O’Keeffe (0-7), Mark O’Connor (0-2), Jack Murphy, Niall O’Sullivan and Seamus O’Sullivan (0-1) each led 0-12 to 1-8 at the break. As the second half commenced Knocknagree upped their performance and despite several attempts for Dromtarriffe to equalize chances eluded them as Knocknagree finally held off to win by 4 points with O’Keeffe (2) and Murphy were Dromtarriffe’s second half scorers.
