Their moment of glory finally arrived, Boherbue under 21 footballers were crowned Kings of Duhallow ‘A’ Championship on Tuesday, April 19 with a 1-11 to 1-5 win over the Newmarket/ Lismire combination Robert Emmets on a beautiful evening at Ballydesmond.

Boher forced to field without the injured Denis O’Sullivan and Michael Daly who was unavailable, were well groomed, disciplined and full of heart proving themselves the better team having come from behind on two occasions.

On an excellent surface before a big attendance this game was one that all present thoroughly enjoyed.

It had everything, good football, tough challenges, sensibly marshalled by referee Eoin Walsh, high fielding and a top drawer defence strategy particularly by the winners who contained and frustrated Emmets big guns in attack.
