Christmas Market promotes shop local

-

A wonderful Christmas market and tea room took place in Millstreet GAA Community Hall where lots of people took the opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere, sample some tasty festive treats and make a start on their Christmas shopping with lots of gift ideas to suit all tastes from a diverse range of exhibits on display for all the family.

On show were new stands from far and wide with a diversity of choice for arts, crafts, foods, fashion and much more. Celebrate Entertainment also hosted a Christmas craft club for kids on the day, and Nibbles Tea Room was a popular stopping off point!.

The event is a fundraiser for Millstreet town’s Christmas lights.

Successful Shoe Box Appeal

A HUGE thanks to everyone for their efforts with regards to the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox appeal.

Over 450 boxes were brought to Millstreet Community School from Rathcoole National School, Millstreet Boys National School, Presentation Convent National School Millstreet, Knocknagree National School, Kilcorney Nastional School and by pupils of Millstreet Community School.

And there was a special mention to the members of the Transition Year ‘ Youth For Justice’ group in the community school for sorting all the boxes and getting them ready for collection.

Additional thanks go to members of the local community who also brought boxes down to the school in support of the appeal. Thanks also go to the members of the Millstreet Community School Transition Year ‘ Young SVP’ group and their teacher, Mrs Mary Randles, for co-ordinating the successful enterprise.
