On arrival, guests will be treated to a reception of mulled wine and some artisan Christmas treats. The event is the perfect crash course to fine tune your culinary skills for the coming festive season to impress all your friends and family. An exceptional demonstration of skill and fine dining is assured on the night with some exclusive secret tips and recipes to be divulged. Recipes will be distributed on the night. Admission is €10 and tickets may be purchased at the door or from any member of the club.

Everybody is welcome to attend. All food for this event is kindly sponsored by Michael Twohig of SuperValu, Kanturk. Your support would be greatly appreciated. This event is a fundraiser for the annual Sinsir Christmas Party which will be held on Sunday, December 11, at Springfort Hall.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Castlemagner Sinsir club would like to remind parishioners that the annual Christmas Party will be held in Springfort Hall on Sunday, December 11, at 1.30 p.m. Perhaps you know somebody in your neighbourhood who would benefit from the warm, friendly, social interaction of this special day. If so, you are encouraged to extend the invitation.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, parishioners are encouraged to spread the goodwill perhaps by offering lifts to the elderly, or to those for whom transport may not be an option. It is the wish of Castlemagner Sinsir Club that the warm spirit of this special day be shared. A warm welcoming glass of mulled wine, followed by a lavish feast of fine seasonal food and wholesome hearty entertainment awaits all those who attend.

Following a lengthy string of letters and after much hearsay, speculation, fighting and arguing, it has been jointly confirmed during this past week by Mrs Claus and Fr Michael Dorgan PP., that Santa Claus himself will now be in a position to take a quick break from his hectic schedule, and make an exclusive flying visit to the Castlemagner Christmas Party, in person, on the day. This is all subject to strict terms and conditions trashed out over the phone between Fr Dorgan, Mrs Walsh, and Mrs Claus at the North Pole.

Staff at Springfort Hall Hotel are already nervously preparing the front lawn for his landing as a complaint was lodged by Rudolf after last year’s embarrassing landing mishap on the Hotel roof resulting in his nose turning black and blue just before the party. It is hoped the preparations will spare Rudolf and Santa a repeat of the embarrassment of last year’s fiasco at the party. Relationships between Fr Michael Dorgan and Rudolf are said to remain tense.

CHURCH CALENDAR

For further dates and times of the seasonal Church calendar in St Mary’s Church, Castlemagner will follow in this column over the coming weeks.

MEETING

There is a meeting been held in Castlemagner hall this Thursday evening, December 1, at 8 p.m. to form a community council. The attendance of a representative from each organisation in the community would be greatly appreciated and anyone else interested in getting involved in this new committee would be welcome.
