Fine facilities and amenities in area

-

BOHERBUE natives can be proud of the fine facilities and amenities in the parish. The Church of the Immaculate Conception which was built in 1969 is a beautiful serene space, and another much loved feature is the Grotto to Our Lady and St. Bernadette on the outskirts of the village.

The newly refurbished Pearse Memorial Hall is in constant use for all kinds of functions, meetings, and events, and is available for hire.

Boherbue GAA grounds and Club House are in constant use, while the nearby Handball Court is utilised by people from the locality and beyond.

The Children’s playground on the eastern side of the Village is a popular meeting place for young families and the Village boasts two fine schools - the Comprehensive School and Boherbue National School while the nearby Educare Centre is a community run non profit making organisation which was established in 2003 to address the need for affordable quality childcare in the parish and surrounding areas

Boherbue is home to numerous busy clubs and organisations which is very evident on St. Patrick’s Day when the Parish hosts one of the finest Parades in North Cork. Music and Sport play significant roles here and young people from Boherbue won five titles at the recent Scór na bPáistí competition. Meanwhile, at Scór na nÓg, the Boherbue figure set and novelty act were both winners.

The recent Juvenile GAA Easter Camp was a great success and all participants are now looking forward to a day out at the newly developed Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Children at the National School pulled out all the stops when they dressed up as their favourite book characters during the recent Book Fayre, and both pupils and staff are looking forward to raising their first Green Flag in May.
