The trend was much the same on the restart. Kilshannig introduced Diarmuid O’Sullivan in attack. O’Sullivan played well but lacked overall support. Mallow moved Sean Hayes to midfield and brought Kevin Taylor into the attack. Sean Hayes pointed two early frees.

A foul on Conor McMahon led to a pointed free by Darragh O’Sullivan. Diarmuid O’Sullivan kicked a great point and they were level at 0-5 each. Kieran O’Sullivan was also introduced by Mallow who played a major role in his sides win.

Sean Hayes pointed a free and Kieran O’Sullivan soloed through from the ‘40 to make it 0-7 to 0- 5 after 42 minutes. Darragh O’Sullivan pointed another free 0-7 to 0- 6 with 12 minutes to go.

A foul on impressive Trevor McEvoy led to a sixth pointed free by Sean Hayes. Mallow were now exerting a lot of pressure on the Kilshannig defence. Good play by Kevin Taylor led to a Ben Slattery point. Kilshannig responded with another Darragh O’Sullivan pointed free.

The decisive score came in the 57th minute when Kevin Taylor goaled after good play by Stephen O’Callaghan, Trevor McEvoy and Craig Lynch. In the dying moments Kilshannig forced a penalty. Darragh O’Sullivan’s effort was well saved by Kevin Doyle with the final whistle following.
