Welsh vintage convoy headed for May fair

-

THERE will be an international dimension to the forthcoming May Fair in Dromcollogher on Sunday, May 21 with the arrival of dozens of colourful, beautifully kept vintage classic and commercial lorries and vehicles from the Heart of Wales Vintage Club.

The club members have chosen to stop off at the popular west Limerick event on their annual road run from their base in the Heart of Wales.

Paudie O’Sullivan, who is one of the organiser of the stop-over of the Welsh based trucks in Dromcollogher, says that the 30/40 strong convoy will roll into the town at mid-day on the Sunday and will line-up in the fair grounds for a static display for a few hours before they resume their journey touring the country.

“People will have ample time to view these magnificently kept vehicles that plied the motorways of the United Kingdom for years and which now have been lovingly restored by their devoted owners,” said Paudie.

The annual May Fair is a fund raising venture for the Dromcollogher Day and Respite Centre that caters for elderly clients from along the North Cork and West Limerick border including Charleville. The centre depends on fund raising to a large extent to meet their annual running costs and the May Fair is their major event in the year.

There will be something for everyone at the fair on the day and your support would be greatly appreciated.
