Allow mother of the bride to be part of wedding plans

-

IT’S sometimes easy to forget the truly important things about a wedding day. You can easily get swept away in the excitement of it all when everyone around you is saying ‘it’s your day, enjoy it.’ It certainly is your day and you should enjoy it, but don’t forget mom. The vast majority of people would never forget mom on the big day, however, as she’s been there through the ‘ thick and thin’ of every episode in your life, emotionally and spiritually. Plus, mom will soon tell you if your preparations are leaving the things that really matter out.

Moms can be a tower of strength on wedding days helping to ease nerves and part with advice which is why you need to spoil her and ensure she’s looking her best. But even aside from glamour, it’s important to make mom feel a part of it all. Your friends, a sister, future sister-in-law, or cousin will only be too happy to lend a helping hand, but make sure mom is part of the plans too.

This will make her feel much happier than just looking stylish and elegant on the day itself. Ask her to draw up the guest list, organise the seating, help choose your dress and bridesmaids’ dresses, planning the flowers and reception ceremony, arrange table decorations, arranging the photo list and invites, maybe ask mom to look after guests travelling long distances by organising their accommodation. There’s so much for mom to do as long as you make the time for her to do it. We know it’s easy to get caught up in the pre-wedding frenzy of excitement with friends - which isn’t a crime by the way - but just remember…mom’s the word.
