Hard luck to the Cork Under-14 girls who fall short to Kerry

HARD luck to the Cork Under 14 Panel and Management in the Munster Final v Kerry on Sunday in Mallow.

Congratula­tions to the Senior Ladies Football Panel and Management on winning a great League Final v Donegal also on Sunday on a score line of 2-15 to 2-14. Congrats too to Colaiste Treasa, Kanturk on winning the First Year Blitz in Mallow on Tuesday, great achievemen­t, well done to all involved.

Well done to all the girls from various Ladies Football Clubs who attend Colaiste Treasa who were on the Panel Féile Skills THE County Feile Skills for Under 14 girls was held last Friday in St John’s pitch in Millstreet. This was hosted by North Cork Ladies Football board.

An excellent display of speed and skills were displayed by all players, on the night the following Clubs took part, Éire Óg, Mourneabbe­y, Naomh Aban, Knocknagre­e and Carrigalin­e.

Well done to all the girls who took part and Congratula­tions to Anna Ryan of Mourneabbe­y Ladies Football Club who will represent Cork in the All-Ireland Feile Skills Competitio­n on Sat June 10th in Abbots town in Dublin.

Thanks to the following, Jerry, the Chairman of St Johns pitch in Millstreet for the use of the pitch. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out in any way on the night, all the help was much appreciate­d. Course WE have had enquiries from clubs to run both a Level 1 and a Level 2 Ladies Football Referee Course.

The Level 1 initially takes two full days with two more elements to it which have to be completed before the certificat­e will be issued.

The Level 2 course just takes two hours and can be completed by establishe­d Level 1 Referees and this course can be completed by all Level 2 Referees every year to refresh their qualificat­ion.

If any club would like to host any of the above courses, then you will be free to choose the date suitable if needed. Summer Camp THE very successful Cork LGFA Summer camps take place this year with Orlagh Farmer and her colleagues from the Cork Senior and Minor panels holding a camp for North Cork clubs from August 8 to 11 in Banteer. The cost is €40 per player and each player will receive a specially designed jersey.

If you require any further help, please call Catherine on 083 3498778. Duhallow 5k THE Duhallow AC 5k series runs for the summer in Duhallow. It’s an ideal opportunit­y to enjoy a walk in the summer evenings and to keep up your fitness.

This series is being held on the third Thursday of each month, the next in the series will be held in Knocknagre­e on Thursday, May 18 at 8pm, proceeds to Knocknagre­e Ladies Football Club.
