Mitchelsto­wn PTAA celebrate their 90th anniversar­y Mass

THE Mitchelsto­wn PTAA celebrates 90 years since its foundation in 1927 this year.

A special Mass with presentati­on of ten year, golden and silver jubilarian badges, the Fr Cullen medal, 10 year certificat­e, 40 year, 60 year and 70 year diplomas will take place at the Church of Our lady Conceived Without Sin, Mitchelsto­wn on Friday, June 23 at 7.30pm to mark this anniversar­y. The main celebrant of the mass will be Bishop William Crean.

It will also be the annual Cloyne Diocesan PTAA Mass.

A Silver Jubilarian is a Pioneer who has completed 25 years of membership. The temporary/probationa­ry period is included in the 25 years.

A Golden Jubilarian is a Pioneer who has completed 50 years of membership. The temporary/probationa­ry period is included in the 50 years.

The Fr Cullen Medal (50 years membership +) is awarded to mark an appropriat­e occasion for Golden Jubilarian­s.

Diplomas available for: 40 year, 60 year and 70 year membership; 10 Year membership (new). A Pioneer who has completed 10 years of membership (have to be at least 26 years of age).

The PTAA has different categories of membership depending on age, or whether it is a lifelong or a temporary membership.
